Little Eyes

I realized after the last post that I had left out the dad of all these babies. This is Weezer, you can see his baby pics a few posts back. He is growing up to be quite the handsome fellow. He will be a year old on March 18. He is a Classical Bluepoint.

We are beginning to see little eyes peeking out at us from amongst all the cream colored fur. All 3 of Myrrh's kittens have their eyes open. Lily's babies are just beginning to open theirs. The picture below shows all 9 kittens if you can tell where one ends and the next begins.
The larger kittens are beginning to crawl around and explore.

All the shades of cream are so interesting. It is hard to tell what color the points will be.
All these pics were taken today. The kittens have been in a box with their moms so haven't seen much sunshine.
I can tell Myrrh's kittens apart now. Will is a whiner-he's pretty loud if you try to hold him, he is the smallest of this bunch. Cotton is whiter than her brothers and quiet and content. Sparrow is the biggest and has shown the 1st interest in exploring. He was trying to play with Lily's ear today and batted at a shadow. He crawled all over my lap and met the dogs and some of the other cat's today.
One thing I've noticed with this many kittens is that they have no odor at all. Having raised lots of puppies, people will mention that they love the smell of puppies and of puppy breath. Kittens smell like nothing at all. Their moms keep them so clean its amazing.
It is such a treat to watch them grow and change, and watch the rest of the household adjust too. I'm so grateful that we have so many healthy, content critters in this house.

Oops We Did It Again!

How many cats can you fit in a box? There are eleven sisters, brothers, aunts and cousins in this one.

Lily decided to haver her kittens a little earlier than anticipated. She insisted on having them in the same box with Myrrh and her kittens. We tried separating them several times but she wouldn't have it, so we let them be.
Everybody seems pretty content. The kittens don't care where they eat lunch and the moms don't care who comes to dinner.

This picture is to show you the size difference between the kittens. The larger one is Myrrh's born Jan. 9. The smaller is Lily's born Jan. 18.

Sheba is Grandma (Myrrh and Lily's mom) and birthing coach. She has been helpful with watching the kids and dispensing advice.

Solomon is Grandpa, Myrhh and Lily's dad. He could care less about the kittens and would rather not be in the house right now.

Kitnins! Finally!

Here is Lily. She's not too crazy about showing off her tummy. I just wanted you to see how big they get. Lily's kittens are due about January 26.

I was way off on Myrrh's due date. Lily is as big now as Myrrh was the day she delivered so I don't think I'm too far off.

How sweet is this face? These babies are so tiny! They are popular too. They have already had company. Emily Buckley, my cat sitter came by the first day. Samantha brought her parents over after Sabbath dinner, she had never seen anything so tiny. She had a blast playing with Weezer the most though.

This baby is 4 days old. You can barely see the points beginning to darken. The edges of the ears get dark first then the paws, nose and tail.

This is Myrrh's first litter. They were born on January 9, 08. We have 2 boys and a girl. The boys have pirate names after their daddy (Capn' Jack Weezer), they are Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. The girl's name is a fragrance like their mother (Wisp of Myrrh), she is Cotton Blossom.

They are real excited that Grandma and Grandpa Rilea are coming to see them next week and are working on getting their eyes open so they can see them too!
