She is quiet for the most part. She tries to get along with everybody. She took over my babies when I first started with the Siamese cats. Solomon, Sheba and Weezer were all cared for by her. She doesn't like strangers and usually only comes to Gregg or I. She hides most of the time people don't even know she's around.
When I first got Solomon, I thought it would be good for her to have one last litter of kittens, she had had two babies years ago from Sylvester, but she never got pregnant with Solomon. Mia, I thought, is too old to have kittens. So her life changed, she started wanting outside sometimes and we let her go as our yard is secluded, she had a great time getting dirty and she became much more bold and friendly.
She also is great buddys with Weezer and liked to be in his cage with him. She looked so good from having been outside! She even put on a little weight! I had brought Mia in and bathed her-she's white, she gets lots of baths and is an easy kitty to bathe. She wanted in with Weezer so we put her in the cage. Oddly she slept in the litterbox. And stayed in the litterbox all night. The next morning I was getting ready for work and checking everybody for food and water and I heard kittens crying. At this point the Siamese babies were all in 0ur room and bathroom and hadn't started wandering around the house. I followed the sound thinking somebody had gotten away from the moms and couldn't find the way back.
The sound took me to Weezer's cage and Mia. I saw babies in the litterbox! I freaked, thats a dangerous place for little ones. The litter is very absorbant and.... ew! I hollered at Gregg to get up because I had to get to work and he was going to have to take care of them. He got them out and cleaned up and in a proper basket. She is doing fine as is happy, happy, happy. She had two fluffy babies, not sure if boys or girls yet. The white one seems to be solid white, it may have a tiny dark spot on its upper lip, I'm not sure if its permanent yet. The other seems to be a sealpoint. They look like they will have long hair.
These kittens are so much quieter than the Siamese babies! There purrsonalities are definitely different.
Two chubby sweet babies!
What a delightful surprise. The more I get involved with cat breeding and raising kittens the more I realize I have a lot to learn. I had no idea that this was possible, I'm a little embarrased that Mia got pregnant at her advanced age, but I am so thankful for the kittens. Mia is ok and very happy.

I'm still working on names for these two. Carrie helped with the last two litters, their names are from the Skippyjon Jones books. The darker kitten is bound to remind us of Hershey (Hershey' Southern Kiss), Hershey was Mias companion, he was a sealpoint Himalayan. I always loved Hershey's name. I'm not sure if these kitties are boys or girls yet, maybe Frosty, Divinity, Mallow or Dovey for the white kitty. Something white and sweet. Something dark and sweet for the other. Cheri's World Famous Chocolate Chip? Ultimate Brownie? Anybody got ideas?
